Architecture and platform

Baracoda's expertise combines the integration of Bluetooth® modules with the development of embedded software.

Since its foundation Baracoda has always wanted to be as independent as possible of the Bluetooth component and micro-controller manufacturers. For this reason, a layer of material abstraction has been developed and several types of Bluetooth architectures have been mastered.

Another architecture has been developed and tested: it consists of a Bluetooth
component (which integrates the Bluetooth stack) plus a 16 bit micro controller (in which the specific application program is embedded). The communication between the two  chips is achieved by a serial link (UART). Several micro-controllers have been tested (Microchip, Atmel, Samsung).

Different Operating Systems (eCos, RTLinux, VxWorks) have been tested by our R&D team to provide Baracoda solutions with the most appropriate operating system for the material platform and the types of applications developed.

Moreover, as an Associate Member of the Bluetooth Special Interest Group, Baracoda participates in the development of the HID (Human Interface Device) profile. HID is a specified class of functioning in the USB norm. For Bluetooth wireless technology, it is a profile particularly suited to data capture and input devices (mice, keyboards, barcode reader, sensors, joysticks, etc).
